poo crash
What a lovely weekend cycling the many hills of Devon, some of which are at least 5 miles long. Tom and I cycled 40 miles on Saturday using part road/part Sustrans tracks. I had a mini crash when Tom pointed out he was switching to the other side of the track to avoid some poo. I decided to do the same but my road bike didn’t react like his mountain bike and it didn’t enjoy crossing the grass in the middle. I sort of stopped and then just fell horizontally. It happened too quickly for me to take my foot out the peddle. I have some very colourful bruising.
We had a picnic on Woolacombe beach and went swimming in the sea. Then we cycled to Illfracombe and admired the Landmark Theatre on the seafront.

If you ever cycle to Illfracombe make sure you arrange a lift up the hill. Actually that goes for Woolacombe, Croyde and Barnstaple too.
