Waspjam
On the bank holiday I visited my mum and dad to see what produce they had on offer. Turns out they had quite a lot and not at all your standard English veg.
Look - they had grapes

and Borlotti beans

and wasps - with which my mum made wasp jam

Lovely

wasp jam is all very well, but all the wasps in the uk this year are french. what about english native jam, eg ladybirds, bumble bees, daddy longlegs.

I didn’t make wasp jam (although I did collect enough) but we did get blackberries and made jam with those. Sarah is the worst blackberry picker in England (possibly the world) and when she did manage to collect some she dropped half of them in a field. she’d better stick to holiday planning I think.

yes it turns out that I am really crap at picking blackberries and mum said I was always a bit rubbish at fruit picking as a child which I sort of remember. Everyone else has 50 berries and I have about 10. oh well
