Oh Jemima look at your Uncle Jim

I am a bit rubbish at remembering words to songs from my childhood but my mum remembers everything she has ever sung. This weekends words go with an opera extract – I can’t remember what – and the words are:

“oh Jemima look at your uncle Jim
He’s in the duck pond learning how to swim
First he does the breast stroke then he does the slide
…….”

sorry can’t remember the rest…mum what’s the last line?

watch it

Last night when I was brushing my teeth something caught my eye down the loo. It was my watch at the bottom of the bowl. It was just sitting there it the water!

The new bus

In an attempt to feel like a tourist on a weekday in February when it is snowing I caught the boat to and from work today. I was very cold and unfortunately the boat heating had stopped working. Fortunately they said we didn’t have to pay. That wouldn’t happen on the bus, it is quicker than the bus, cheaper than the bus and they had fixed the heating by 5pm. I think I could go on and on saying why it is better than the bus but I’ll let you look at my view from the new bus instead.

Tom Smith is in our room. It makes me feel funny but I don’t know in what way.

Dreamy

Tom and I were going to Australia on holiday. We went to some dodgy pubs before our flight and when outside one of them someone tried to kidnap me and put me in his car. He looked suspiciously like the printer we use at work. I managed to escape though and we made our way to the airport. There we were on a quest to find security or police as we realised the man had followed us. We finally found security but so had he! He had tried to turn them against us. Once again though we managed to escape get on our plane.

Then in Australia Kate to us to a hostel bar and Tom was saying how happy he was because he loves hanging out with loads of people who smoke drugs (hahaa). Then we realised there was something funny going on. Everyone was wearing crazy red jackets. Tom and I decided to investigate (even though we were on holiday) as we were both MI5 and had the skills. He went and did the field work and I stayed in our room as backup and making the paper reports. When I had finished my report (which took 2 days) I bound it in a book of purple fake fur and left the room with my gun.

I found Tom and Kate wearing the red jackets talking with the man who had tried to kidnap me! Kate asked me if I had worked it out yet. “worked what out?” “The red jackets make you invisible. The man who tried to kidnap you is friendly he was just trying to tell you about the jacket”. Tom was in on it too.

Let me think what’s been happening

Micky and Jack came back from France with their daughter Minnie Bo who is lovely. We decided she is so happy because she has such nice parents.

I felt that first spring of spring and celebrated the nearly lightness of 5.30pm by getting the ferry home on Wednesday.

I went to design agency for a meeting and tried not to be impressed by the full range of Innocent smoothies offered to us. I couldn’t help it I was a little impressed.

I went to Cheltenham today to rendevous with my mum and dad and a man with a bike. Tom bought the bike and is now in love with it.

I think Kate is coming home on 1st March. That is only 9 days away.

Review

For the first time in my life I have a pretty good record of my life for the previous year. My blog is one year old today. In true self loving (as it’s valentines day), end of the year newspaper style I am having my own review of the year.

I like these:

Due to my recent acquisition of a sewing machine and my growing repertoire of crafts I was quite excited when walking along the beach in Brighton to see this on offer:

Creative Stiches and hobby craft

We went in to the entrance to find it was £5 to get in and it was full of funny lookin women with bags of crappy craft. So we didn’t go in.

If you like the idea of the Creative stitches and hobbycrafts fair you may also like Entertain Alfresco offered by the same company.

What else don’t I know?

I rely on bloglines to feed me BBC news. Actually this isn’t a bloglines problem it’s a BBC problem because since Thursday I have been getting news as usual and it wasn’t till Thursday night that I found out about the Royal Wedding. Not that I really want to know about Royal Wedding, but even now, and it is Saturday now, the BBC still have’t told me it’s happening. It makes me a bit worried that there is something else they aren’t telling me.

It’s nearly my birthday

It is all a bit naughty because I opened my birthday present 5 days before my actual birthday, which is this thursday on the 10th.

Thanks mum and dad (and thanks me too). It is very very nice and it is so great to be able to take photos again, other than on my mobile phone. I haven’t really taken any photos yet although I did just take one of a robot.
