pee mee

February 28th, 2004

I just went to Sainsbury’s on my way home from university. I don’t like supermarkets much, but because I’ve been working all day every day recently, I had to go there, to get some things. Bought some nice food (I hope), and when I paid for my purchases, they gave me 1p.

Confused? I was, then I realised they gave me a p because I’d used my own bag (ie my rucksack). That softened my opinion of them. For now.

but you only get that if you go to the old ladies and sometimes even they don’t dole out. The young kids never do because they don’t seem to have the p ethic. I always go to the old ladies in sainsburys and the other day a collegue of the woman behind the till came up to her and partook in idle chit chat while she was serving me. When the collegue left she felt so bad that she had been ignoring me she took 25p off my shopping! She didn’t however give me a p but I didn’t think it mattered.

i was served by a young man who didn’t know what a bagel was. i bought 2 bagels which were stuck together and he asked me how much it was. i said 30p and he charged me 30p, it was of course 60p because ‘it’ was 2 bagels! heh. maybe he thought it was a big pretzel.
