hastings via new york

March 28th, 2004

OK, so while visiting Hastings I noticed a comment in their leaflet about the Stade.

They reckon that Hastings is similar to New York, or more specifically the fact that their ‘net shops’ as they like to call them (which are tall buildings to hold fishing nets) are very tall. So I decided to compare.

New York - Trump World Tower:

Hastings - a net shop:

Similar? You decide.

It depends on the scale. If you squint at the hastings pic you can really imagine little people walking about below, which I know doesn’t really make it real but heh. Another case of the Hastings tourist board bigging themselves up with nothing really to back it up? Would you really live there?
