came to help my friend ollie rescue the data from his ibook g4 because the screen is broken and he is sending it back for repair. we were going to copy the data off using his machine as a firewire drive, onto my machine.
i arrive, open the lid of my ibook to hear CRUNCH CRUNCH BEEEEEEEEEEEP crunch crunch (repeat until i reset because nothing else will work). 45 minutes and much more crunching later my machine is back and seems to be working, but i think my hard drive might just be on the verge of death.
those crunching sounds were so loud, really echoed throughout the case. it was like the sound of a pestle and mortar..don’t want to hear them again. it looks hard to replace an ibook hdd.

ouch that’s horrible. I hope it’s ok. Also what will I do if I come and stay this weekend and I can’t use the internet. You’d better keep me updated.
