buffet review
September 23rd, 2004
This week I have been eating lots of nice food.
On monday I cooked dinner for 7, which was fun (and it tasted good, as you can imagine).
On tuesday and wednesday I attended a conference at the Queen Elizabeth II centre in London. This included 2 buffet lunches, the first consisting of a seared tuna steak (cold and raw in the middle) along with various salads including a butter bean one, a sort of caesar one and a couscous one, and some ‘fragrant’ rice, followed by ’strawberry cheesecake roll’, which was crazy. The second consisted of an organic salmon terrine, served with some equally nice salads and a massive slice of lemony/limey cheesecake after that. Should have been fancy food, given the price tag was in the region of £37 per meal.
Today I am in Brighton and had a buffet lunch of sandwiches (while on a course to learn how to be a ‘facilitator’), they seemed a bit budget compared to my experiences in parliament square earlier in the week. Maybe I’m just getting used to higher buffet standards.
More buffet tomorrow. And probably on Saturday too, a wedding buffet.
