Apple are not NTL

January 10th, 2005

Today I received my outstanding cheque from NTL. When I spoke to them last week, I was told it was being sent as a matter of urgency, after they had sent the previous cheque to my old address (amazing, as the whole reason for closing my account was a house move..).

It did indeed arrive this morning, 2nd class of course. The finest express service offered by our Royal Mail.

So, assuming it doesn’t bounce, after 6 months, I believe my NTL fiasco may finally be over.

Today I discovered the ‘y’ key on my iBook is broken. It tends to print 2 y’s to the screen when I press it. I called Apple, had to hold for quite a while, but within a minute of getting through to an operator, they had arranged to send me a new keyboard by courier. And this time, unlike my previous experiences with Apple, I didn’t appear to be speaking to someone in Bombay. That is unless they have been particularly good at training people to have very strong Geordie accents.
