Due to my unwillingness to wait for Virgin Trains to release their weekend tickets for June (still waiting, on 24 May!), I have planned an alternative route to Newcastle at the end of June, from Bristol via London*. This means travelling GNER instead of Virgin.

in January a key broke on my iBook keyboard, causing me to call Apple and ask for a replacement. They told me it would be replaced under warranty and they would send me a new one. Great!

But not according to Virgin Trains. They sell a number of ‘quota controlled’ advance tickets which offer substantial discounts on regular ‘open’ fares, making train travel feasable.

it didn’t surprise me to read this morning that the council in brighton are responsible for issuing the largest number of parking tickets outside london.
not many hours of the day go by in which i don’t see a traffic warden out of my window.
