garden growth

Although our window box gardening efforts have not been entirely successful this year (not helped by a week-long trip to France..), we have been treated to some lovely strawberries.
Although you don’t get the joy of eating them, you can enjoy them with your eyes:

Pardon my ignorance, but why can’t you eat them? Just curious… :)
