drunk on the job
Friday, May 28th, 2004
today i saw a contractor (i presume some sort of builder) adding to his lunchtime coffee from a miniature baileys. outrageous.
fast cat dreams
Sunday, May 23rd, 2004
i woke this morning at 5.30am after an excerpt from a dream that a small kitten was purring very near my face and it took me ages to get back to sleep as my heart seemed to be beating about 3000 bpm. fear the cat.

autonomous systems lab
Saturday, May 8th, 2004
in the room i am in, which contains imacs only, one of the machines (i don’t know which) periodically makes a strange noise, like the sound of a dinosaur being killed quietly. it’s very odd. i reckon it is an autonomous imac, because there is nobody else here except me, and i am not making [...]
ibook DEATH
Tuesday, May 4th, 2004
words cannot express what just happened, but i’ll try. i was talking to edward about my ibook and how it was still alive. 30 seconds of trippy LCD patterns later, and my ibook is fried. it no longer powers up. note how this post covers so many categories, as the areas of my life which [...]

big means expensive
Tuesday, April 27th, 2004
I always thought charging for post by weight was a bit weird, because surely volume is important too. It seems I’m not alone, the Royal Mail plans price by size. But how will this work internationally? What if I send a parcel from France to the UK, will it cost more than to post to [...]
nice day 2
Saturday, April 24th, 2004
in order to have a break from work today, i had a croissant on the beach for breakfast and wandered around town. came home and made carrot cake and avocado and walnut risotto. then went for an expensive pint of hoegaarden this afternoon. now i sit at home, sash window open, listening to summer make [...]
someone has it in for me today
Thursday, April 22nd, 2004
it’s a nice sunny day, so i have the window open to try and clear some of the ‘been in the house for too many days’ fog which is lingering. next door someone is drilling into and banging on the wall ajoining our house, as they have been for the last 7 weeks. over the [...]
why domains suck
Wednesday, April 21st, 2004
because i have a hosting account which expires today, pause2.com is hosted there, i have been trying for the last 3 months to move it over to 4angle with little success due to nobody seeming to know who actually controls the domain. i can’t modify the DNS because it is controlled by DSVR who are [...]
