organised chaos

It’s been a quiet (but tense) few weeks (months?). I’ve spent my time doing some research, and most recently, writing a thesis. The content of this, for the time being, will remain undiscussed.

What I can say is that things have been out of the ordinary.

I was particularly organised – see here, my organised reading. This demonstrates the classification of my reading into subject categories. From above, it is hard to get a sense of depth, but I assure you that these piles are substantial.

Pictured below is my collection of laptops, acquired in order to perform some (large) experiments. Stage left is my new laptop, next is a laptop donated by edward, and stage right is my old laptop. You can also see my general working environment.

can you imagine life without pizza? obviously some people can’t, or else they wouldn’t have invented the in-car pizza oven. pizza wherever you go (as long as you drive a car!).

in January a key broke on my iBook keyboard, causing me to call Apple and ask for a replacement. They told me it would be replaced under warranty and they would send me a new one. Great!

A new keyboard arrived in the post, but it was the wrong kind of iBook keyboard. And they charged me for it. Not so great.

I called them and asked for them to reimburse me and send me the correct keyboard. They agreed only to send me a new keyboard, but not reimburse me.

The correct keyboard never arrived.

I contacted them again 2 weeks ago, they apologised (at last) and said they would send me the correct keyboard. I just received an Apple desktop keyboard in the post. What use is that?
